1971 Puch 125GS - Dirt Bikes
These were stored in a shed about 5 houses down from my workshop. They were in there for about 40 years. The previous owner passed away and the family gave me the frames… I just had to dig them out of the shed.
I drove my Bobcat over and used it to pull one of the frames out of the shed. I needed it because there was a tree laying across the shed and on the bike. There is a video of the whole adventure on the @theroadhaus Instagram.
The gas tanks and engines and probably other pieces were stored in a pole barn. Unfortunately the family had scrappers take everything out of the barn before I got a chance to grab the engines.
The fuel tanks were plastic so the scrappers left them behind. I’ve never seen that “Puch Racing Team” logo before so that was pretty cool to find. The bikes have some cool Italian-made, Ceriani forks. I think the frames, swingarms and forks are salvagable. One of the frames had fenders and lights which also look good. The tail light isn’t even cracked.
Now these will be sitting in my shed for another 40 years because they are way at the bottom of the project priority list. Free is free though!
p.s. If you have the 125GS or 175GS engine hit me up on Instagram! @theroadhaus
